This is a success story of Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Sharma, a 48-year-old, patient suffering from Oral Cancer diagnosed in June 2021. He belongs to Dhanbad, Jharkhand. He was diagnosed with Squamous cell carcinoma of the oral cavity when he developed a massive gaping wound in his cheek. The tumor grew to such an extent that it eroded his cheek muscle and skin. His cheek muscles were destroyed and he was left with a gaping wound that was infected and had a number of wound complications. Mr. Sharma was unable to eat, and drink and had a weight loss of 7 kg. Whatever he ate or drank, came out of his gaping wound. He was in severe pain too, and unable to sleep. He approached various hospitals, in India. All of them advised him of mandibulectomy (removal of the mandible/jawbone) along with reconstructive surgery. Mr. Sanjeev did not like the idea of living with a permanent disability.
