Nonprofit sues over work to paint D.C.'s reflecting pool blue

A nonprofit is suing the Trump administration over its move to resurface and paint the reflecting pool on the National Mall. The group says there was no federal review of the plan, and the work is already underway. President Trump only revealed the plan last month. In a video the White House posted to YouTube, Trump said it would be completed in time for the country’s 250th anniversary celebrations in July at a cost of $1.5 million to $2 million. But the New York Times reported Monday that the project’s final cost could be upwards of $13 million after a no-bid contract was given to a firm Trump chose, according to documents the Times says it obtained.
