Hope Among Venezuela’s Earthquake Survivors

About 6 days after the deadly twin earthquakes that struck Venezuela, search and rescue teams are still finding some survivors. A Jordanian rescue team extricated a 3-year-old boy who had been trapped under rubble for 6 days. 44 rescue teams from at least 27 different countries are in Venezuela working to find and save as many people trapped under rubble as possible. More than 400 buildings have collapsed and many more were damaged. The death toll and number of injured continues to grow and over 46,000 people are thought to be missing.
