🎥 About Nukkad Natak (2026)
Nukkad Natak is a Hindi independent feature film written and directed by Tanmaya Shekhar that released on February 27, 2026. Unlike mainstream Bollywood projects, this movie was made without a major studio or star backing — driven by belief, grassroots energy and a strong social message.
The story follows two college students, played by Molshri and Shivang Rajpal, who are expelled from their elite campus and sent to teach children in a nearby slum. What starts as a punishment becomes a life-changing journey, forcing them to confront stark social inequalities and rethink their place in the world.
Despite challenges in securing distribution, the team creatively marketed the film by embarking on a six-week caravan tour across India, meeting audiences, screening in villages, and building momentum outside the traditional film circuit.
The movie has also been recognized at film festivals and won acclaim for its heartfelt storytelling and grounded performances.
