Mortal Kombat II (2026) Behind the Scenes: Karl Urban, Baraka, Kitana, Shao Kahn & Fight Training

Behind-the-scenes footage from Mortal Kombat II (2026) reveals how the brutal fights, iconic characters, and massive tournament sequences were brought to life for the next chapter of the Mortal Kombat franchise. Karl Urban trained for Johnny Cage's fight scenes while performing in practical costumes inspired by the classic games. Adeline Rudolph spent months learning martial arts to become Kitana. Martyn Ford transformed into Shao Kahn through hours of prosthetic makeup and intense physical preparation before filming. One of the hardest creative challenges was bringing Baraka to life because of his teeth design. Much of the fight scene between Baraka and Johnny Cage was performed by CJ Bloomfield and Karl Urban. Joe Taslim returned as Noob Saibot, the reborn shadow version of Bi-Han (aka Sub-Zero). He signed a five-movie contract. The movie uses practical stunt work, real martial arts choreography, and detailed recreations of classic Mortal Kombat arenas.
