The Kawasaki KX327 and KX327X! The Japanese two-strokes we've waited for?︱Cross Training Enduro

The 2027 Kawasaki Kx327! Finally, Another Japanese two-stroke is coming. Lean, mean and green. Hopefully! The Europeans have been making some great two-stroke enduro motorbikes for years now. Sherco. But after making some excellent two-strokes years ago the Japanese brands gave up. Except for Yamaha. In 2016 they created the YZ250X although it was more a cross-country race model than an enduro machine. Into enduro and dirt bikes? Check out our dirt bike videos. Extreme enduro training vids are our focus. So the new Kawasaki Kx327! It's fuel-injected. In our experience, all fuel-injected two-strokes have a bit less grunt than carburetor models so perhaps the 327cc engine capacity is meant to offset that. We certainly hope Kawasaki has resolved any issues with the Kawasaki Kx327 fuel injection. Many of us will remember the various issues faced with the Austrian models. And a lot of owners felt the system was unleashed on the public too early. The Kawasaki Kx327 has an electric start. Woohoo! Years ago I rode a Kawasaki KDX250 and absolutely loved the linear power delivery and handling. It was easily a match for the best two-strokes of the time. With luck this KX327 will hit the mark too. Many of us into hard enduro have looked longingly at the YZ250X but did not want to kick-start the Yamaha on the side of a steep hill. There is some electronic wizardry for the geeks. Different power modes for the Kawasaki Kx327 which could be handy in slippery terrain. There will be an app to adjust traction control, engine mapping, and launch control. You can check your emails and phone calls while riding. Seriously? Ergonomics. Kawasaki says they have interchangeable parts and adjustment settings available but no details. Does this just mean they include a set of handlebar risers? Time will tell with the Kawasaki Kx327. It has a six-speed gearbox. Well done, Kawasaki. For years we have seen so many Japanese off-road models limited to five years and we wondered if the engineers could only count with the fingers of one hand. We assume it will be a close ratio gearbox for racing. Hopefully there will be a wide ratio gearbox for a future enduro model. The overall design? From an enduro perspective it's good to see the exhaust is mounted quite high and less likely to hit rocks. KYB suspension should hopefully work well. I think the key issue is whether that fuel-injection system will be reliable and not sacrifice too much low-end power. And how quickly Kawasaki can release a true enduro version. In countries like Australia we can still get road registration for two-strokes for legal riding in our state forests so the enduro model will be eagerly anticipated.
