Peru police dress as World Cup mascots for drug raid

Peruvian police disguised themselves as 2026 FIFA World Cup mascots Maple the Moose, Zayu the Jaguar, and Clutch the Bald Eagle, during a raid on a suspected drug trafficker in Lima on June 10. Officers said they chose the costumes because the suspect is a die-hard football fan. The man had previously served nine years in prison for drug distribution.
