Description
It's always scary when one of your dogs gets hurt. In this video, we're sharing a detailed health update on our Siberian Husky, Kira, after she mysteriously injured her paw during a recent camping trip.
We don't know exactly how it happened – a sharp rock or a hidden picker bush – but Kira came home with a painful, open cut between her toes. We're sharing the whole story, from the moment we noticed it to our multiple vet visits. You'll see how we're managing her recovery, especially since Mom is heading out of town for Super Zoo in Las Vegas! But don't worry, even with the cone of shame and a paw booty, Kira's personality shines through, and she might even start a chaotic play session with Memphis and Eleanor by the end of the video!
We hope sharing our experience can help other dog owners who might go through something similar. Remember, life is short, make memories with your dogs!
🐾 KIRA'S PAW RECOVERY PLAN 🐾
After two vet visits, here is the treatment plan we're following to help Kira's paw heal quickly and prevent infection.
Vet-Prescribed Care:
A two-week course of antibiotics to treat any potential infection.
At-Home Care:
Epsom Salt Soaks: We soak her paw twice a day in an Epsom salt bath to help reduce inflammation and draw out any debris.
Paw Protection: We keep the wound clean and covered with a breathable paw booty when she's walking around.
The Cone of Shame: The cone is essential to prevent her from licking the injury, which can slow down healing and introduce bacteria.
(Disclaimer: We are sharing our personal experience. Always consult your own veterinarian for medical advice and before trying any at-home treatments for your pet.)
❤️ WAYS YOU CAN SUPPORT THE DOGS (If You Wish!) ❤️
We've had many people ask how they can help with vet bills. Please know your support from simply watching and sharing our videos is more than enough! But for those who have insisted, we have these options. Any funds received help us cover our dogs' needs and also allow us to "pay it forward" to help other pets in need.
