That moment when the history of Valentine’s Day gets rewritten… Did you know Saint Valentine was a bishop in Roman times and was arrested for illegally performing wedding ceremonies for soldiers as the Emperor Hadrian II thought single men made better soldiers. Because of this Mr. Valentine ended up in jail. He fell in love with his jailer’s blind daughter. He healed her blindness and left her a letter on his execution day that ended in ‘from your Valentine’. Obviously in our depiction he forgets to heal the jailer’s daughter and she stays blind but in real life my valentine loves me the way I am and I got a bunch of roses this morning!! Ollie and I love history so thought this was funny to do.
