Tapo C325WB Aurora Sequence May 11-12 2024 - Tauranga, New Zealand

The full aurora sequence as captured by my backyard "meteor camera" (a TP-Link Tapo C325WB wifi home security camera). As we can see, the aurora was apparent as soon as the sky was dark enough following sunset. It really intensified between 8:45pm - 9:05pm and again around 11:30pm and very intensely at around 12:25am. There was further a outburst at around 2:30am and the activity died away by 3:30am. This camera is normally pointed higher (as can be seen up until just before midnight) to avoid nearby security lights and local light pollution. I adjusted it down to try to capture more of the aurora.
