State Audit on Helene funds given to the community college system

The state auditor for North Carolina has done an audit on the community college system on allocated hurricane Helene‘s mental health funds. Indications are that some of the colleges had to claw back allocated funds and re-submit them as student activities for misappropriations. Some of the allocations went to a guided third watching trip, stress, balls, and succulent plants and pots. I am glad to see an audit take place. Maybe it will straighten out the rest of the monies that have been designated for Western North Carolina.. More audits are necessary.
