Description

Last episode we introduced the idea of RC crawler competitions at RC Topia, and today the next group of drivers step up to the course. Three more trucks take their turn through the gates as we continue learning how competition crawling works, one obstacle at a time. For many RC enthusiasts, competitions can seem intimidating from the outside. There are score sheets, judges, penalties, gate markers, and rules that can make it look far more complicated than it really is. The purpose of this series isn't to create a high-pressure environment or crown champions. It's simply to introduce the community to a different side of the hobby and show that competition crawling can be fun, approachable, and rewarding for drivers of all skill levels. Throughout this event we used a simplified score sheet so everyone, including viewers at home, could follow along and understand how points are earned and lost. Reverses, rollovers, gate touches, winching, recoveries, and bonus gates all played a part in shaping each driver's final score. More importantly, every obstacle became an opportunity to learn. What I enjoyed most was watching the variety of trucks tackle the same course. Different wheelbases, different driving styles, different approaches to each challenge. Some obstacles looked easy until the tires touched them. Others surprised us completely. That's one of the things I love about RC crawling. There is rarely only one solution. RC Topia has always been about adventure, imagination, and bringing people together. This event was no different. Friends gathered shoulder to shoulder, shared ideas, encouraged one another, and spent the day enjoying great machines, great conversations, and a beautiful stretch of Nova Scotia countryside. This wasn't a serious competition. It wasn't about trophies or proving who was best. It was simply a group of RC enthusiasts getting together to learn, laugh, challenge themselves, and explore another corner of the hobby together. Thanks for joining us for Part 2.
