We Activated Smoke Bombs on an RC Jet…

This video marks the maiden flight of the Arrows MiG-29 twin 64mm EDF RC jet, and right from takeoff it exceeded my expectations. For a first flight, the jet felt incredibly locked-in, stable, and confidence-inspiring, which is exactly what you want when flying a new EDF for the first time. After getting a feel for the jet, I took things a step further by activating smoke in flight to see how it would look on a fast, scale twin-engine platform. The setup uses a MenaceRC pyro trigger to activate Enola smoke, all securely mounted and fixed to the aircraft so nothing is released during flight. The result was an unreal smoke trail that completely transformed how the MiG-29 looked in the sky. What really stood out on this maiden was just how well the Arrows MiG-29 flies. It tracks smooth, has plenty of power from the twin 64mm EDFs, and carries its energy through big passes and maneuvers with ease. For a jet in this size class, it feels far more refined than you’d expect. Considering the sale price of $299, I genuinely believe you’re getting a lot of jet for the money. From the flight performance to the overall presence in the air, this MiG-29 punches well above its price point and makes for an awesome addition to any EDF lineup.
