Delta Air Lines Flight 1067, a Boeing 737-900 departing Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport, suffered a serious engine failure just after takeoff — and the situation escalated quickly when flames from the engine ignited a grass fire along the runway. The crew reported “we lost left engine” and immediately began emergency procedures.
