Description

This is a Motormouth couple car review of the updated 2026 BMW i4 Electric sedan. There are BMW i4 three powertrain options, we have the M60 with up to 447 km/278 miles of range, 593 horsepower and 586 lb-ft of torque. 0-100 km/h in 3.7 seconds, 0-60 mph in 3.6 seconds. Other BMW i4 options include the base RWD model with up to 536 km/333 miles of range, 335 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque. 0-100 km/h in 5.6 seconds, 0-60 in 5.5 seconds. The BMW i4 AWD with up to 462 km/287 miles of range, 396 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque. 0-100 km/h in 5 seconds, 0-60 4.9 seconds. What’s New? BMW has increased the range and efficiency of the i4 with new silicon carbide inverters. Theses inverters are not only more efficient but also more powerful and more resistant to heat than traditional silicon semiconductors. The more powerful i4 has a new name changing from M50 to M60 giving it more power and range, up 57 horsepower. The BMW i4 is made in Germany and it handles incredibly well, it has a playful feel for an EV, it’s quite fun and agile especially on twisty roads. It has incredible acceleration, this M60 is fast, maybe a bit too fast for me. I don’t know when I would use all this power, the i4 AWD model has plenty. It really is the perfect size for the city, you can turn it on a dime, the turning radius is great. On the highway, passing power is terrific. In Canada, the BMW i4 eDrive40 starts at $64,990, i4 xDrive 40 $69,900, i4 M60 xDrive $82,900 (Pricing includes, freight, PDI and fees). MSRP as tested $104,250. In US, BMW i4 eDrive40 $57,900, i4 xDrive 40 $62,300, i4 M60 xDrive $70,700 (MSRP). The BMW i4 comes with an 11.5 kW onboard charger. With a Level 2 charger, it will go from 0-100% in 8.5 hours. At a DC Fast Charger with speeds up to 205 kW it will charge from 10%-80% in 30 minutes.
