Description

Rosie O’Donnell is stepping out for the Tony Awards! On Sunday, June 7, the comedian chatted with Access Hollywood on the red carpet ahead of the award show where she discussed why she publicly revealed she got a facelift in a recent Substack post. “People were writing in on my Substack and everything saying, ‘What are you doing? You look so good, what?’ You know. And just like when heavy celebrities lose a lot of weight quickly and they don't say they're on a GLP-1, I judge them, you know. Without naming names, I judge you and I think it's unfair. So, you know, you're not going to help anyone with obesity by lying about it,” she began, adding, “And I just wanted to tell everyone the truth. I had to wrestle with myself as a feminist to do it, and it was a lot of money. But I'm very happy with the result.” O’Donnell went on to share what the response has been since she published her Substack and shared if her teenage daughter, Clay, has realized. “No one noticed for like six months. And then I wrote the piece, and now everyone wants to talk about it. But that's okay too. But, yeah, my daughter, who's 13, has autism, said, ‘I will never respect you if you do it.’ And luckily, after I did it, they didn't notice. So, I hope they're not watching Access Hollywood,” she said. The actress additionally noted that before she underwent the procedure she had “very, very deep marionette” lines on the corners of her mouth and would be asked by people in Ireland if she was upset, explaining, “[They] would say, ‘Are you all right, darling? You look so sad.’ And I'm like, ‘It's just my face.’ I lost 50 pounds. I'm on Manjaro. I'm starting to tell these Irish strangers the truth about my face and my, you know, illnesses. But, I don't know. I just didn't want everyone to think I look sad when I feel, in fact, very happy.” 0:00 - The Story Behind Rosie O'Donnell's Tony Awards Custom Suit 0:34 - Announcing Her One-Woman Show 'Common Knowledge' in New York 0:59 - Balancing her Life in Ireland with Visiting Family in the US 1:23 - Why She's Keeping It Real About Celebrity Cosmetic Procedures 2:19 - How Friends and Family Responded to Her Treatment » SUBSCRIBE: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCiKGMZZmZXK-RpbKJGXgH3Q?sub_confirmation=1 » Visit Our Website: http://accessonline.com Get More Access : Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/accesshollywood/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/accesshollywood Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/accesshollywood/#AccessHollywood "Access Hollywood" is an entertainment news show featuring Mario Lopez, Kit Hoover, Scott Evans, and co-host Zuri Hall.
