Massive sinkhole opens on Long Island Expressway; Major delays expected

A large sinkhole has forced the closure of multiple lanes on the Long Island Expressway, causing major disruptions for drivers. Police say three westbound lanes at Exit 49 were shut down after a sinkhole about 10 feet wide and 8 feet deep opened on the roadway. Authorities say the closure could last at least 24 hours as crews work to assess and repair the damage. Officials say one vehicle is partially inside the hole, but no injuries have been reported.
