होर्मुज बंद तो भारत के लिए 'दूसरा कतर' बनेगा यह अफ्रीकी देश! जहाजों को होर्मुज से नहीं गुजरना होगा; खाड़ी देशों पर निर्भरता कम करने की प्लानिंग ईरान जंग की वजह से भारत में आई गैस की कमी से निपटने के लिए सरकारी तेल और गैस कंपनियां अब नए देशों से रसोई गैस (LPG) खरीदने का ऑप्शन तलाश रही है। इसी वजह से इंडियन ऑयल, भारत पेट्रोलियम, हिंदुस्तान पेट्रोलियम और गेल जैसी कंपनियां अफ्रीकी देश अंगोला की सरकारी कंपनी सोनानगोल से LPG खरीदने पर बातचीत कर रही हैं। मीडिया रिपोर्ट्स के मुताबिक, ये कंपनियां सोनानगोल के साथ लंबे समय का समझौता करने पर विचार कर रही हैं। हालांकि, बातचीत अभी शुरुआती दौर में है और सरकार स्तर पर भी चर्चा चल रही है। दरअसल, भारत की 92% LPG खाड़ी देशों से आती है। भारत सरकार इस निर्भरता घटाना चाहती है। ऐसे में अगर अंगोला से करार हो जाता है तो जहाज अटलांटिक और अरब सागर से होते हुए सीधे भारत पहुंचेंगे। उन्हें होर्मुज स्ट्रेट से नहीं गुजरना होगा। If the Strait of Hormuz is Blocked, This African Nation Could Become India's 'Second Qatar'—Ships Would No Longer Need to Pass Through Hormuz; Plans Underway to Reduce Dependence on Gulf Nations To tackle potential gas shortages in India resulting from a conflict involving Iran, state-owned oil and gas companies are now exploring options to procure Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) from new international sources. Consequently, companies such as Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum, Hindustan Petroleum, and GAIL are currently in talks with Sonangol—the state-owned oil company of the African nation of Angola—regarding the purchase of LPG. According to media reports, these companies are considering entering into a long-term supply agreement with Sonangol. However, these negotiations are currently in their preliminary stages, and discussions are also ongoing at the government level. Notably, 92% of India's LPG supply is currently sourced from Gulf nations; the Indian government aims to reduce this heavy reliance.
