Enter the 2026 DBX, which offers all the same style and athleticism of an Aston two-door with a cargo-and-family-friendly SUV form factor. With a twin-turbo V-8 engine under its shapely hood, the DBX accelerates like a supercar, hitting 60 in just 3.1 seconds at our test track. Handling is sharp and satisfying, but the DBX can also cruise in comfort, giving it a dual personality that’s ideal for days when you’re on family duty. Sounds perfect, right? It very nearly is, but only if you can afford its eye-popping starting price. What's New for 2026? Aston is launching a new range-topping S model of the DBX this year, which boasts 717 horsepower and over 100 pounds of weight-saving measures. Its carbon-fiber roof is said to lower the DBX’s center of gravity, which Aston Martin says improves the SUV’s handling. Styling elements include a unique front grille design, S badging pretty much everywhere, and an interior draped in faux suede and leather upholstery. Engine, Transmission, and Performance The DBX is powered by a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 engine supplied by Mercedes-AMG. The engine makes 697 horsepower in the DBX 707 and 717 horsepower in the DBX S. In both models, the V-8 pairs with a nine-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. The DBX is fundamentally rear-wheel driven, but a center differential sends torque to the front axle when slippage is detected at the rear. Adaptive dampers and height-adjustable air springs come standard on the Aston—a boon for off-road adventuring, as we found on our drive of the 2025 DBX 707 in Scotland. We also drove the new 2026 DBX S and found it to offer sharper steering and an improved ride. Thanks to a diverse set of drive modes, the DBX's chassis offers a broad range of driving personalities, from refined and relaxed to responsive and playful. Despite its short 151-foot stop from 70 mph, the DBX we tested suffered from a soft-feeling brake pedal. Interior, Comfort, and Cargo The DBX shares a lot of its switchgear with the rest of the Aston Martin family. The cabin is covered in attractively stitched leather, soft-touch surfaces, and a microsuede headliner. A digital gauge cluster, customizable ambient lighting, three-zone climate control, and heated front and rear seats are all standard. Desirable options include ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and a variety of even fancier cabin materials. Rear-seat space is ample, with plenty of knee and headroom for adults. There's a good amount of cargo volume, too, with 22 cubic feet of space behind the rear seat and 54 cubic feet with the rear seats folded.
