Description

The feeling of watching this shark swim in with this storm, enjoying the heavy tropical rain and the warm water on the slightly pink sand was, in my opinion, a Jawsome 😍🦈 way to enjoy this storm 😍🦈🩵😍 There are a few large predatory shark species that I regularly talk about the need to learn to adapt your behavior to in order to be safer in their home, the ocean. Species like this however, it’s more important to just stay aware of their proximity to enjoy time with them, minding not to kick, step, or accidentally hit them as they lounge about in the shallows. These beautiful tawny nurse sharks are capable of squishing and cutting a finger or toe or sucking in and cutting skin, but nothing serious (no loss of appendage or significant blood loss.) They often pile up next to one another and if I move slowly or hold still, they will often come snuggle in the sand next to me 🩵🫶🏽 The local fisherman do clean their catch near here so while I would normally say avoid areas where fisherman are actively fishing, or especially cleaning their catch, as other species that may be attracted to the area could remove a bit more flesh in an understandably confusing situation for them. There are still opportunities to enjoy time in nature, observing beautiful wildlife around these areas, if your just stay respectfully aware, correctly id & adapt to the species and observe their behavior continuously. There were a few blacktip reef sharks that cruised by later and @juansharks tracked their behavior for me so I could stay alert, adapt, and still enjoy time respecting their capabilities ❤️🦈 . It’s been nice to have more time to just enjoy time with sharks and less time behind a screen but soo many moments to share (like my favorite 🦈 night dive) when I get more time to sort through. ❤️ Stay safe, enjoy, and thank you for helping to spread awareness about sharks—their true behavior, their ecological importance, their plight, and the need to protect them from unsustainable killing, which I truly believe stems in part from fear-driven apathy. . 🎥 angles 🦈👙🍑 by my hubby @juansharks of course 👙 kini by @pakalohabikinis #sharks #ocean #shark #sharkdiving #travel #sharks, #shark, #sharkdiving, #sharkdive, #sharklover, #sharklife, #savethesharks, #protectsharks, #sharkconservation, #ocean, #oceanlife, #oceanlove, #oceanconservation, #marinelife, #marinebiology, #marineconservation, #sealife, #underwater, #underwaterphotography, #underwaterworld, #freediving, #freediver, #scubadiving, #scubalife, #divinglife, #diverlife, #oceanadventure, #adventuretravel, #ecotourism, #sustainabletravel, #hawaii, #oahu, #northshoreoahu, #hawaiilife, #islandlife, #tropical, #tropicalvibes, #stormyweather, #blacktipreefshark, #nurseshark, #tawnynurseshark, #reefshark, #apexpredator, #oceanpredator, #respectwildlife, #wildlife, #wildlifephotography, #wildlifeconservation, #nature, #naturelovers, #naturephotography, #earthfocus, #blueplanet, #planetearth, #oceanminded, #saveouroceans, #oceanawareness, #sharkawareness, #fearless, #turnfearintorespect, #coexist, #oceaneducation, #marineeducation, #sharkresearch, #conservationist, #womeninocean, #waterwoman, #surroundedinblue, #openocean, #shallowwater, #coastallife, #sealover, #oceanvibes, #travelhawaii, #bucketlist, #onceinalifetime, #ecoadventure, #natureconnection, #mindfulmovement, #oceanlover, #sharkweek, #discovery, #natgeo, #divingadventures, #islandvibes, #bluewater, #stormvibes, #sharkencounter, #underwaterlovers, #marinescience, #protectwhatyoulove, #oceaninspiration, #respecttheocean, #sharkloversclub, #hawaiiadventures, #oceanmoments, #liveinthemoment, #saltlife
