Emergency flood warnings remain in place for Katherine, Nitmiluk and Daly River in the Northern Territory as the worst floods in more than twenty years inundate the communities. Major flooding is expected to continue throughout the day in Katherine, following floodwaters that peaked near 19.2 metres overnight. Katherine Farmstay owner Michael Shepherd says his property has been completely flooded, with emus, chickens, goats, horses and even a crocodile crowding in as the waters rose.
