The Biblical Pattern of Healing the Sick #biblestudy #bibleteaching

When I pray with the sick, I follow the same pattern that Jesus did in Matthew 9, where He preached the Gospel BEFORE He healed the sick. That’s what I generally do. I preach the Gospel, then call people to repentance, and then pray for the sick. It’s not a hard and fast rule, Jesus Himself didn’t always follow that pattern, because when the sick came to Him – like the woman with the issue of blood later in Ch 9 – He just healed the sick, and I do too. But the miracles are the proof of the truth of the Gospel that I preach about Jesus. Miracles convince the people of the truth of God’s Word.
