Family & Community Protest Brazoria County Deputy Shooting of Texas State Student

John Mendoza Jr.'s family and dozens of community members are calling for accountability and a murder charge after the Texas State student was fatally shot early Monday by Brazoria County deputy Kevin Tippit. Protesters gathered outside the Brazoria County courthouse and demanded the release of video showing the incident, which appears to have been radioed in on dispatch audio as an "accidental discharge" after about a two minute pursuit ended in Mendoza Jr.'s father's garage.
