This Law Makes YOU a Criminal, Even if You Don't Own a Gun

On paper, that sounds like a public safety measure. But once you look at how 3D printing and rapid prototyping actually work, the problem gets a lot more complicated. Because a gun part can look like a bracket. Or a tube. Or a drone component. Or something from a robotics lab. And if the technology gets this wrong, New York may end up chilling small businesses, maker spaces, universities, machine shops, and startups that rely on rapid prototyping.
