Babymetal started in 2010 as a sub-unit of Sakura Gakuin, mixing idol pop with heavy metal in a way that felt completely new. Led by Su-metal with Moametal and Yuimetal, they quickly caught attention worldwide with songs like Gimme Chocolate!!. Over time, things changed. In 2018, Yui Mizuno (Yuimetal) left the group due to health reasons, which was a big moment for fans. After a period with rotating dancers, Momoko Okazaki (Momometal) officially joined in 2023, forming the current lineup.
