A hearse arrived early on Friday morning after a devastating Christchurch house fire killed a child and left four other children and two adults injured overnight.⁠ ⁠ Fire investigators in hazmat suits entered the gutted Whitehall St home in Mairehau on Friday as police and Fire and Emergency New Zealand began trying to determine what caused the blaze.⁠ ⁠ Emergency services were called to the single-storey property about 8.25pm on Thursday after flames engulfed the house.⁠ ⁠ Six people were taken to hospital.
