As U.S. President Donald Trump returns to Washington from China, there are many unanswered questions about whether the U.S. will discontinue arms sales to Taiwan. While that decision would appease China — which does not recognize Taiwan as its own independent nation — Taiwan says there's no debate with arms sales protected by American law and are not up for negotiation.
