1st Album “The Moon's Elbow” Listen to the album https://linkco.re/NP4t1gM5 「The Itch」 Story by #IchikaNito The town was driven by enormous gears. Rotor wings spun on the rooftops of the buildings, and countless shafts ran beneath the ground. From the slightest shift in vibration, everyone who lived there could tell, what kind of mood the town was in that day. The protagonist was a mechanic. Every morning, he began his work by checking the tall central pillar. As he pressed his ear against it, just as he always does, he sensed something unusual. The supposedly regular sound of rotation of the gears held a faint, bouncing tremor. It wasn’t a breakdown, nor a malfunction. It simply felt as if some part of the town were restless. He took out his tools and looked for the cause, but no matter how many times he inspected the pillar, he found nothing wrong. Even so, the tremor wouldn’t stop. The gears turned normally, yet the only thing that kept nudging at his back, Was the noise of the town, as if it was trying to plead something. “…You want me to move?” He meant it as a joke. But the moment he said it, the whole town shook once, just slightly. Almost like it was an answer. He shut his toolbox and ran up the stairs beside the pillar, heading to the observation deck—a place a mechanic never needed to go. When he looked out over the town, the windmills, which are usually slow and calm, were spinning at a tempo he didn’t recognize. A building’s roof had spread its wings without a sound. And the street lamps were sparking blue even though it was still daytime. No one had instructed it, no one had planned it, but it seemed the town itself wanted to move. A heat rose in his chest. A town, which has always had the same patterns, and moved in the same way, had shifted, just a little, into a new direction. And that small shift felt like the first step toward changing the world. Before he realized it, he was standing on the rail of the observation deck, looking at the tracks that extended beyond the town. A white road lay ahead, one that no one had ever used. “…Guess I have to go,” He murmured to himself. Then he started running. The pulse of the town pushed him forward. When the world begins to stir, there comes a moment when you simply can’t stay still. No one could have stopped his footsteps now. This was the impulse that marked his beginning. #TheMoonsElbow
