Description

Prompted by the fatal shooting of 37-year-old Alex Jeffrey Pretti in Minneapolis on Saturday, more than 1,000 protestors met at the Wallace Federal Building in Salt Lake City for an emergency “ICE Out” protest organized by Salt Lake Indivisible on Sunday afternoon. The crowd marched down State Street to 500 South, to 200 East, stopping at the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration offices on 200 East, where they paused to listen to speakers before marching back to the federal building. Salt Lake City police blocked traffic for the marchers as they carried signs and collectively chanted “Donald Trump, let’s be clear: Immigrants are welcome here,” and “Minnesota makes us proud, end the occupation now” and “No ICE, no KKK, no racist USA.” Video by Rick Egan
