Description
I was invited to Pakistan for a traditional wedding weekend — my first time in the country and my first time attending a multi-day Pakistani wedding.
I started in Lahore, where I met the groom and part of his family. From there, we traveled to Islamabad for the Mehndi and Barat — two of the main celebrations during a Pakistani wedding.
From the moment I arrived in Islamabad to the moment I left, things didn’t go exactly according to plan. Unexpected roadblocks, city closures, and a few real-life travel hiccups made this weekend anything but predictable.
In this video, you’ll see the preparation, the celebrations, the traditions, and the emotional moments as families come together during a Pakistani wedding — from Lahore to Islamabad.
There was still one final event to attend — the Walima in Lahore, hosted by the groom’s family — and getting there turned out to be another story.
This video is part of my Pakistan travel series.
