ABC Interview: Puberty Blockers Banned in the NT

ACL NT State Director Nicholas Lay spoke with the ABC yesterday about the Northern Territory Government’s decision to ban puberty blockers for minors. ACL has been warning about these drugs for years. Puberty blockers are experimental, and leading clinicians overseas, with far more experience in treating children with gender distress than their Australian counterparts, have raised serious concerns about their safety and long-term impacts. Those warnings are reflected in the Cass Review, and in the growing number of governments moving away from these treatments.
