Read the News in English: Learn Vocabulary & Collocations

Are sharks worthy of protection? In this lesson for B2-C1 English learners, we study recent measures used to protect sharks and other threatened species. I'll highlight 10+ advanced vocabulary items and explain how they’re used in context as we read the article in short parts. This lesson gives attention to word families and collocations. I’ll identify which words you should learn as part of your active or passive vocabulary. I’ll test your understanding and recall with three vocabulary review tasks. Finally, your listening comprehension will be tested when I read the entire article aloud – a chance for you to hear the key words again in context.
