Description
Sermon by Pastor David Ryu on Sunday September 28, 2025 at Diaspora Church. The sermon text comes from 1 Thessalonians 4: 9-12. The recent events of Charlie Kirk's death has lit a fire in the hearts of millions of men and women across the world to make their lives count for something greater than themselves. There are reports of multitudes of people going back to Church after a long time, or for the first time in their lives. In these dark and desperate days, the Church needs to shine her light all the more brightly, directing people's hunger and ambition to Christ! In these four short verses, Paul serves as our faithful guide, redirecting our ambitions toward godly ambitions that align with God's will and character.

1 Thessalonians 4: 9-12
Now concerning brotherly love you have no need for anyone to write to you, for you yourselves have been taught by God to love one another, for that indeed is what you are doing to all the brothers throughout Macedonia. But we urge you, brothers, to do this more and more, and to aspire to live quietly, and to mind your own affairs, and to work with your hands, as we instructed you, so that you may walk properly before outsiders and be dependent on no one.
