The U.S. is looking to use Iranian assets to help allies in the Gulf region rebuild and repair damages caused by Iran during the war, according to multiple reports. The Treasury Department is considering allowing Gulf allies to tap into frozen Iranian assets to pay for damages they sustained in the war, a source familiar with the plan told The Associated Press. A shooting near a community festival in Toledo, Ohio, wounded at least 12 people, and police said a search for the suspects was ongoing following an outbreak of gunfire that sent crowds scrambling for cover. Two of the wounded were in critical condition, Toledo Deputy Police Chief Joe Heffernan said. He said it appeared there were at least two people firing weapons who were "probably shooting at each other." Additionally, the plaintiffs note, Congress did not approve of the arch that overlooks the event and no environmental review was conducted. In a speech marking the anniversary of D-Day, U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth appeared to use the occasion to draw a parallel between the Allied liberation of Europe during World War II and immigration by sea.
