Lindsey Graham, Republican senator from South Carolina, has died at 71

Americans woke on Sunday to the shocking news that Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), who served in the upper chamber for more than two decades, died after a “brief and sudden illness.” He was 71. President Trump, who counted on Graham as a fierce supporter, described the late GOP lawmaker as “one of the greatest people and Senators I have ever known” in a post on his social media platform. He said “details and arrangements” will follow. Graham was scheduled to appear on NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday morning.
