Juggernaut confirms itself as the most celebrated Italian dark-fantasy short film of 2024. The film had its digital release on November 20th, 2025, and it is now available on WeShort, the on-demand streaming platform dedicated to showcasing the best short cinema from around the world. Set in a dark and visionary Middle Ages, Juggernaut tells the story of a fearless warrior who embarks on a painful and exhausting journey to get back what he has lost. At its core, Juggernaut explores both loss and the subsequent struggle to accept it. It tells of becoming unstoppable with love fueling every step forward; though the same love that brings hope to the heart could also turn it blind. Beyond its total absence of dialogue, Juggernaut stands out for its strongly narrative use of original music and sound design. The film builds its identity upon a sonic structure functioning as a true diegetic language: pulsating rhythms, layered electronic textures, and organic elements alternate to guide the viewer’s emotional perception, shaping tension, pacing, and the very breath of the story. A dream born from the hearts of three young creatives: the brothers Daniele and Emanuele Ricci and Eugenio Krilov, all based in Lucca, Tuscany. They have brought to the screen an epic with passion and determination, capable of making their homeland shine on an international level, creating a distinctive cinematic imagery rarely seen within the national film landscape. During production, Daniele and Emanuele Ricci directed the film, with Daniele Ricci also serving as Director of Photography, while Eugenio Krilov stars as the protagonist. The film represents a collective creative challenge and an act of production courage, born from the synergy of three friends determined to push beyond the limits of Italian independent cinema. Today, together with Mondo Rosso Productions, the team now aims to the future: production is currently underway on an epic feature film set within the Juggernaut universe.
