Description

A female leafcutter bee (Megachile sp., family Megachilidae) occasionally encountered various difficulties while cutting out green leaves of tick-trefoil (aka tick clover and beggarweed; Desmodium podocarpum subsp. oxyphyllum, family Fabaceae) one after another as her nesting materials. I cannot help admiring her flexible solutions. Maybe I should call her choosy rather than clumsy in some cases. Some bloopers were also recorded at 240-fps high-speed movie or 8x slow-motion (0:22-). Captured in the sunny early-afternoon (around 12:30 PM) of early-August 2024 in Japan. Check this out for her successful works; https://youtu.be/SwRi3BiLqCQ For a full story (text in Japanese); https://sigma-nature-vlog.blogspot.com/2026/03/ngfhd.html 0:00 60 fps FHD 0:22 240 fps (8x slo-mo)
