Hybridization Eco-mode concept for twin-engine helicopter

The hybridization Eco-mode concept is intended for twin-engine helicopters and will soon be tested in flight on the Aneto-1A engines of the Airbus Helicopters Racer demonstrator. With the Eco-mode, the engines are equipped with an innovative electric system. It allows the pilot, when detecting the appropriate conditions, to put an engine in standby mode. The other engine provides all the necessary power, allowing it to run on the best efficiency power range. This concept generates fuel savings and CO2 emissions reductions of around 15% and increases the mission range capacity.
