Description

Review on this portable ultrasonic cleaner from SterilPure. While they do market this to use in your sink, I will be testing it out on engine part cleaning instead. They list it on their website as being a portable multifunctional ultrasonic dishwasher. This has a 37,000 hurt rating with an active oxygen cleaner, can provide 360° residence and can be used for various things such as washing dishes, cleaning vegetables, cleaning jewelry, and removing rust. #smallengines #ultrasoniccleaner #sterilpure Product Link: https://sterilpure-dishwasher.kckb.me/ccb5324d Website: http://4diyers.com Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/4diyers Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/4diyers Twitter: https://twitter.com/4DIYers Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/4diyers/ Tumblr: http://4diyers.tumblr.com Pintrest: https://www.pinterest.com/4diyers/ Opening the box, here’s the ultrasonic cleaner. It’s quite large and heavy, has a thick rubber gasket at the bottom to go in a drain along with a strainer cup and it also has a hanging hook that flips out. The thick cable goes to the controller box, it’s all touchscreen. This also comes with an adapter plug to use on North American style plugs and a cord. For this example I’ll be using it in a bucket of water. Ensure it is sufficiently covered, they recommend doing this in order to ensure cleaning action and prevent excessive noise. Pressing the on button, the screen illuminates. Unfortunately they don’t really supply any instructions however it does seem fairly straightforward to use. Pressing on the left icon enables the ultrasonic cleaning action. It has three modes and each of those are just a time limit. I can do a maximum of 12 minutes. On the other side is a bubble agitator. It appears that I cannot use both modes together. The bubble agitator just provides aeration in the water. I tested this out with tinfoil to see if it actually worked and in this 12 minute interval it did Deteriorate that tinfoil. Now for the carburetor test, this is the carburetor off my snowblower and it’s been sitting outside for a few years. It does have some buildup inside but isn’t overly dirty. The water here is just hot water from the faucet and I also applied some dish soap. I tried to keep the carburetor centered with the ultrasonic cleaner. It’s important that the object is not touching the ultrasonic cleaner. Therefore I hung it in place with a wire. As a close-up you can see there is some clouding coming from the carburetor. I ran this for about three 12 minute intervals, so a total time of 36 minutes. Once out, the carburetor does seem to be cleaner and the water is quite dirty. I have noticed a thing with ultrasonic cleaners if you do have any sticking or seized components, it does loosen them up. The throttle butterfly was sticking here and now it has freed up. If anyone remembers a while back I did the intake cleaning on my BMW M 57 engine with hot water in a garbage can. I use the narration method with the air compressor, however, I think this would have been an excellent option for cleaning the internals of the intake. Unfortunately I don’t have any other dirty engine components at the moment, however I will be using this in the future along with releasing more content to see how it’s holding up.
