Victorians: Have Your Say on the CSP Ban

The Victorian Law Reform Commission is taking submissions until March 24th to review the draconian Change or Suppression Practices Ban. Have your say and send your submission to [email protected]. Your submission must address their terms of reference, or the submission can be rejected. To keep it relevant, you need to answer this question: “Could the Act’s operation and effectiveness be improved? If so, how?” Include the actual question in your submission. For example, “To answer the question, could the Act’s operation and effectiveness be improved? In so how?”, I would like to respond in the following way.” Our suggested points include. 1. Any attempt to broaden investigation and enforcement powers risks further eroding religious freedom. 2. Religious freedom is already harmed in this Act. It provides no protection for those who hold a Christian belief regarding gender and sexuality. 3. The only way for the Act to be improved is to restore religious freedom and freedom of speech in being able to pray for, counsel and teach a biblical sexual ethic.  Feel free to expand on these points, or write your own, ensuring that you answer the question.
