Australian Ranting Raven

Marcel in the first week if october was a very pushy raven,in particular on this day where he was ahh ahh ahhing for all he was worth,starting off on the ground then jumping up onto the tramp when asked to,no doubt expecting a treat in return but too bad for marcel this time around so he continued to harass me for food like some starving seagull.unfortunately he was not as " talkative" as usual but he does not mind a bit of human contact on this day and marcel is easily coaxed onto my hand/forearm but as soon as he realizes that there is no food to follow he soon jumps off my arm back onto the tramp where he walks off in a " not so happy " mood. Marcel was found on the ground in the last week of july after a very stormy night,after ringing a few places i was instructed to take him to specific vet surgery where i was advised that he was a raven,healthy,unlikely to have fallen to ground & he was a fledgling & " should be returned to where he was found his parents will look after him ". unfortunately this was not the case and it was 4/5 days before the parents came near him,he also had a talon missing from a rear toe that became quite swollen & infected in the weeks that followed needing treatment,it was paw paw ointment that cleared it up . [ after having no success with other conventional treatments.after having no success with other conventional treatments.Although the only sure fire way to accurately identify the gender of a raven is by blood/dna test Marcel has been declared a male for a number of reasons with the primary one coming from my 15 yr old daughter who has declared that " that bird has to be a male.because its just so annoying " fortunately she avoids Marcel otherwise he might think his name is/was " stupid bird " admittedly the poor kid was swooped by a maggie as a five year old & it appears that it has left her quite scarred.
