Great blue herons will always disable or kill a fish 🐟 this size first before attempting to swallow it !! They will stab it over and over repeatedly…it’s petty brutal but necessary for it to avoid injury . They will also swallow the fish head first so the sharp fibs are pointed the opposite direction and fold down as it swallows it !! This encounter took about 10 minutes I condensed it down to about a minute didn’t think it was necessary to show it stabbing it over 20 times !!
