A HOLE in the Runway causes CHAOS at Manchester Airport

Whilst I wasn't able too get out to stream at Manchester Airport this morning Think Tom was able to get out this morning to catch the chaos at Manchester Airport as there was a hole detected on runway 23R which meant that the Airport made the correct decision to close it for repairs. This led to having single runway operations on Runway 23L and as you may know this causes severe issues for the amazing Air Traffic controllers at the airport as this runway does not have a parallel taxiway meaning that landing aircraft have to turn on the active runway and then track back down it leading to congestion. As you can imagine this does not happen that often and when it does it derives great interest from the plane spotters. We also need to say thank you to the amazing Air Traffic controllers and Airside Operations team at the airport who once again showed how amazing they are dealing with such difficult circumstances so expertly. .........................
