Royal Albatross ~ Plateau Chick Graduates To A LARGER BASKET! 🎉🎉 WYL Returns To Feed Him! 5.29.26

The rangers came to the nest to weigh Plateau chick and they were carrying a larger basket! Plateau chick is 127 days old - he is still a bit nervous at weigh ins & spilled a small amount but it was likely due to a feral cat that came close to him the other day. He came in weighing 9.5kg (21 lbs!) The average weight for a male chick at this age is 8.6kg! Current weights ranged from 5 to 10.8kg with the lightest two are receiving regular supplementary feeds. WYL returns to feed Plateau ♥ WYL came in the day prior for a feeding as well. Looks WYL is staying close to the colony for his feeding trips.
