Mas Sagan também alertava sobre o perigo de um futuro guiado pela ignorância, superstição e pseudociência. Uma vez eu li um livro (não consigo lembrar o nome) que ia além, o autor dizia: "o ser humano é um erro!" - Nietzsche já abordou um ponto de vista semelhante, a filosofia niilista, no geral, questiona bastante esse conceito.
