Description
Dan returned for Part 3 of his healing journey after struggling for years with chronic mid-back pain, stiffness, and debilitating spasms.
After his last visit, something remarkable happened:
✔️ His mid-back spasms stopped
✔️ He experienced an entire day with no pain at all
✔️ He felt well enough to go on a 3-mile walk and 7-mile bike ride
But as Dr. Rahim explains, healing is a process, and sometimes when patients finally feel relief, they can accidentally do too much, too soon while the body is still stabilizing.
The focus of this visit shifted from crisis care to building Dan’s foundation.
Previously, Dan relied on heat and muscle relaxers for temporary relief.
Dr. Rahim shared one of Dr. Gonstead’s clinical principles:
👉 Ice, not heat, helps reduce inflammation and neurological irritation.
Dan now understands when and why to ice, and how movement, not rest, helps the body truly heal.
During today’s analysis:
• The sacrum and L5 remained clear
• The chronic mid-back area stayed stable
• The primary nerve pressure was now found at L3 (lumbar spine) and T3 (upper thoracic)
To restore proper biomechanics, Dr. Rahim utilized the Gonstead kneechest table for a deeper, more specific correction, even though Dan isn’t a fan of that adjustment.
After the initial adjustment, Dan’s body guarded, a normal protective response.
Instead of forcing more correction, Dr. Rahim had him take a 20-minute walk to allow the nervous system to reset.
When Dan returned:
The stiffness had subsided.
The body was ready.
The residual L3 was adjusted successfully.
This is Part 3 of Dan’s journey toward lasting recovery, transitioning from pain relief to structural correction and stability.
Stay tuned for the next phase.
