Kandhamal Elephant Death Case: Suspended Deputy Ranger Surrenders in Court | Kanak News Shorts

In a shocking development in the Kandhamal elephant death case, suspended Deputy Ranger Binay Kumar Bishi has appeared before the JMFC Court in Tumudibandh after remaining absconding for nearly one and a half months. The case relates to the mysterious death of an elephant in the Munduti forest under Belghar Range of Kandhamal district. As per allegations, the elephant’s carcass was cut into 32 pieces and buried to destroy evidence. Following the incident, the Forest Department suspended the Deputy Ranger. The court has directed the accused to submit all relevant documents before the investigating officer within 48 hours. Binay Bishi has reportedly met the Baliguda DFO and appeared before Investigating Officer Manoranjan Bag, assuring full cooperation in the probe. So far, 10 accused including 6 poachers, the Deputy Ranger’s driver, and a JCB operator have been arrested and forwarded to court.
