Hidden in New Hampshire, Laconia State School stands as the remains of a place where so many were shut away and forgotten. Founded in 1901, this institution housed children and adults who were separated from society, and over the years became known for overcrowding, mistreatment, and tragedy. By 1941, even its own cemetery had begun to grow, with about 170 residents eventually buried there and fears that more graves may still be unmarked.
