Al's Gasser at Dragstalgia 2026 😀👍

Al's Gasser is an iconic British drag racing car campaigned by Al O'Connor. Originally a 1970s Gleadow brothers racer, the beloved Ford Pop/Anglia-based dragster is famous for its flames, sign-writing, and O'Connor's half-century career on the strip. Al O'Connor purchased the car—previously known as Motor Psycho—in 1973 and converted it into a Street Altered. Throughout its long history, Al's Gasser has been a crowd favourite at venues like Santa Pod Raceway, running low 10 and 9-second quarter-mile passes. The vehicle has survived major incidents, including being rolled at Santa Pod in 1978 and again in 2017. Each time, it was painstakingly rebuilt—most notably by Phil Ginner Middleton—allowing O'Connor to return to racing events.
