Ian Paisley Jr just claimed the EU is basically as responsible as the asylum seeker for the brutal knife attack in Belfast this week. Then he flips and attacks the very idea of a hard border — calling it an assault on the Good Friday Agreement. Classic double-speak. In this clip, the former DUP MP links the horrific stabbing to post-Brexit arrangements and EU influence over the Irish border. He argues that because the Republic is in the EU and the UK left, movement is too easy and returns are harder. He even suggests that any proper border control would destroy the peace process and that politicians are “bullied” into silence on the issue. The contradiction is glaring.
